Old Basing Archers is an active club that caters for all archers from complete beginners to national athletes. We shoot outdoors throughout the year and indoors in winter in Old Basing, Basingstoke.
There are two routes for joining the club:
1) Starting out with no previous experience and wanting to learn archery
2) As a returning or experienced archer who has already been on an approved Archery GB beginners course.
Learning Archery
Old Basing Archers run regular beginners courses through the year. It’s the ideal introduction to the sport, teaching you all the basics including how to set up, shoot the bow and score your arrows. These courses are approved by ArcheryGB.
Beginners courses consist of two sessions. All equipment and coaching will be provided. After this you will be able to join any other open archery club in the country. The cost for these courses is £60 per person (payable in full on registration, refundable if cancelled more than 7 days in advance of the course start date)

Juniors between the age of 11 and 16 are required to have a parent or guardian present at all times. We regret that the club cannot accommodate juniors under 11 on our courses.
Following your course you may pay the club membership fees and join the club where you will be provided with equipment you can use and further coaching. Contact the Coaching coordinator if you have any other questions about beginners course or coaching, but all beginners courses are listed on the link above.
Returning Archers
We are always pleased to welcome archers with previous experience. If you have been an archer previously, or attended a beginners’ course at another club, contact the Club Secretary for membership details. You will need to arrange a free assessment to ensure that you retain enough knowledge to shoot safely with us.
Our club is located at the outdoor range on the Old Basing Recreation Ground in Old Basing near to Basingstoke.
